چکیده

Abstract Background Livestock manure is an important reservoir of antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB) and antibiotic-resistance genes (ARGs). The bacterial community structure diversity are usually studied using high-throughput sequencing that cannot provide direct evidence for ARB changes. Thus, little known about the distribution ARB, especially in presence different antibiotics composting process. In this study, fate was investigated aerobic swine manure, chlortetracycline, sulfamethoxazole, lincomycin, ciprofloxacin as typical antibiotics. abundance species were analyzed systematically to evaluate their ecological risk at stages composting. Results absolute total decreased, while relative increased on day 2. lincomycin-resistant higher than other ARBs during whole four 9.42 × 10 6 –2.51 2 CFU/g (lincomycin- > chlortetracycline- sulfamethoxazole- ciprofloxacin- multiple bacteria), they not completely inactivated end Antibiotics led a partial proliferation including Corynebacterium , Sporosarcina Solibacillus Acinetobacter . Especially, pathogenic genus, observed chlortetracycline lincomycin treatments. Conclusion Among studied, showed highest risk, due it expanded range phyla level (Firmicutes, Actinobacteria, Proteobacteria). principal co-ordinates analysis indicated primarily associated with rather antibiotic types. Possible potential hosts related decrease ARGs based network analysis. culturable Proteobacteria increase Firmicutes ( Bacillus ) partially explained high degradation rate various progress study. These results provided information control resistance

Effect of low initial C/N ratio on aerobic composting of swine manure with rice straw.

Two pilot composting experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of low initial C/N ratio on the composting of swine manure with rice straw by measuring physical and chemical parameters. The results showed that the thermophilic duration of bin 1 and bin 2 was long enough to satisfy the sanitary standard, and swine manure could reach maturity. Bin 1 containing larger amount of swine man...

Composting of swine manure spiked with sulfadiazine, chlortetracycline and ciprofloxacin.

The fate of chlortetracycline (CTC), sulfadiazine (SDZ) and ciprofloxacin (CIP) during composting of swine manure and their effect on composting process were investigated. Swine manure was spiked with antibiotics, mixed with saw dust (1:1 on DW basis) and composted for 56 d. Antibiotics were spiked to a final concentration of 50 mg/kg CTC+10 mg/kg SDZ+10 mg/kg CIP (High-level) or 5 mg/kg CTC+1 ...

New antibiotics for antibiotic-resistant bacteria

The need for new antibiotics to effectively treat antibiotic-resistant infections remains unfulfilled. Despite the well-publicised concern over this issue, only two novel antibiotic classes have been introduced in the past 20 years alongside several new agents of existing classes. Accordingly, the current antibiotic armoury remains inadequate to meet the challenges posed by resistance today. Mo...

Synergistic Effect of Probiotic Bacteria and Antibiotics on Antibiotic-resistant Strains of Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Isolated from Patients with Burn Wounds

Background: Burn infections are one of the leading causes of death in the world. Antibiotic resistance is a major concern among the medical community. In this study, we investigated the effect of common probiotic strains on multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains. Methods: Strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa from burn wounds of patients were isolated. Then pathogens were biochemically ...

Effects of Copper Addition on Copper Resistance, Antibiotic Resistance Genes, and intl1 during Swine Manure Composting

Copper is one of the most abundant heavy metals present in swine manure. In this study, a laboratory-scale aerobic composting system was amended with Cu at three levels (0, 200, and 2000 mg kg-1, i.e., control, Cu200, and Cu2000 treatments, respectively) to determine its effect on the fate of copper resistance genes [copper resistance genes (CRGs): pcoA, cusA, copA, and tcrB], antibiotic resist...
